Stop the tresses from color burnout that is

Finding the perfect hair colorist can be as difficult as locating a needle in a haystack, and affording to pay that pro every five weeks for maintenance may be an even more difficult challenge. Here are a few tips and tricks to make your most recent salon visit last just a little bit longer. * Try to avoid subjecting your freshly colored hair to the harsh chlorine found in swimming pools. Sure, a dip in the pool might sound fun, but the chemicals can damage your color and, in some cases, may even cause lighter hair to turn a faint shade of green. You may cringe at the thought of a swimming cap, but it will prevent your color from getting distorted. * Invest in a shampoo and conditioner that are formulated to keep your new hue looking as bright and beautiful as the day you walked out of the salon. Nature's Gate Organics Fruit Blend shampoos and conditioners provide UV protection and help keep color-treated hair from fading. The UV protection is especially important because, just like your skin, your locks need their share of environmental protection as well. At a suggested retail price of $7.99, Nature's Gate products can be found at health food stores, pharmacies, drugstores and grocery stores nationwide. * When you know that you are scheduled for a hair color appointment, skip shampooing the day before. The increased natural oils provide more sticking power for the color. You'll find that your shade is brighter and bolder than ever. * A few days before you color, deep condition your locks with an at-home treatment to prep them for the service. The hair color process is drying and can cause damage. Conditioning your hair will prevent breakage and enhance your hair's health. The next time you walk out of the salon, don't just heave a sigh of relief that your work is done for the next few weeks. Remember that with proper upkeep, your new hue can outlast its normal expiration date and hopefully save you a few bucks in the process.

Hair dryer shopping guide and buying tips

: When purchasing a hair dryer you may want to first take a few minutes to consider all the different types available. There are many different styles and types on the market today to choose from that it makes sense to shop the variety before making a final decision. Depending on your individual needs you want to take some time to see which of the many different hair dryers would be suitable for your hair type. The different structures of hair like for example curly hair, thin or coarse-hair are just one important fact to be considered when choosing a hair dryer. Even your favorite hairstyle may play a role when choosing the right tool for hair styling. If you are a person who loves to travel or who has to travel quite frequently for business, you may take a look at the styles available that are suitable to travelers. Conair hair dryers are no doubt one of the most popular hair dryers today. They carry compact Conair hair dryers that you can take with you while traveling. The Conair pro Li'l Bird hair dryer is perfect for traveling. It most conveniently fits into the smallest spaces while it is still the right tool to create a perfect hairstyle. This Conair hairdryer also has a diffuser and a sock or regular bowl included. This Conair hairdryer is a must have for anyone who is on the go. You can easily take it with you even for a short overnight stay. It also makes for a great gift idea for friends and family. The Conair pro Yellow Bird with its lightweight, AC motor and 1875-Watt power makes hair styling easy and simple. It has 2 speeds and 4 different heat settings, nozzle and pick are included. The straightening comb works great, even for the curliest hair. Another great choice is the Conair Infinity Hair designer dryer. It offers the latest when it comes to hairstyling. With its Tourmaline Ceramic Technology your hair will look good with silky and shiny all the time. Tourmaline Ceramic is a material commonly used by all of the top brands in hairstyling, including Solia and Sedu flat iron products. This technology takes hair styling to a higher level. The new infrared technology, available in today's top products will protect your hairs natural luster. That's important, because keeping the natural moisture level of your hair (not dried out) protects the long-lasting beauty of a person's hair. The Conair Infinity Hair designer dryer performance will allow you to dry even thick hair in a very short time. In order to save space, the wall mount dryer units become more and more popular with many people. These units allow you to keep your hair dryer handy at all time, while saving drawer and cabinet space. You may find some of these units in fine hotels and luxurious resorts. There is no reason however why you should not have your own unit at home. Among the more popular wall mount hair dryers are the Jerdon and Oster brands, among others. They can be fixed securely and safely to your bathroom wall away from water and wet places. The Bion wall mount hair dryer comes even with a night-light. The Bion ionic tourmaline hair dryer will dry your hair quick and easy, which is perfect when you're in a hurry. Here are 3 points to keep in mind when purchasing a hair dryer: 1. Don't ever buy a used hair dryer. This item is often displayed in second hand stores and yard sales. As with all electrical items you need to be cautious when buying second hand. If you have to use your hair dryer quite frequently, it is always safer to buy a brand new model. 2. To keep your hair healthy and vibrant, when styling with a hair dryer, keep your hair conditioned regularly. Use a good conditioner! This will help you to keep your hair shiny and prevents hair from getting brittle. This is important especially when using chemicals such as hair colorings. Always use a moisturizing shampoo along with your conditioner. This will help to restore the needed moisture for your hair. It will help to make your hair soft and healthy looking. You may choose one with a natural blend of herbs such as chamomile, rosemary and nettle. These ingredients are some of the best natural herbs known to keep hair healthy and strong. 3. Before buying your next hair dryer take a look at the website shown below and just spend a few minutes and compare the different models. As mentioned earlier, consider your type of hair and your hairstyle when choosing the model that will best fit your lifestyle and your hair. Some will dry your hair faster with higher heat settings than others. The advantage of this is that you can dry your hair quickly. The disadvantage is that it will also tend to dry your hair out faster. No matter if you are a person that travels often or if you are a person that needs to save some space, there is something for everybody.

Plastic surgery do not believe the hype

When is a beautiful model in a publication not really a beautiful model? When someone has played funny with the image! You read magazines. I read magazines. We all read magazines. We all think the same thing: My God, there are some beautiful people in the world. Or are there? Of course, there are incredibly beautiful people in the world. The uber couple of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are just one example. Many of the photographs you see in magazines, however, are not exactly accurate. This is also true for the Internet. The massive improvements in software over the last 10 years have led to some interesting developments. In this case, we are talking about digital editing software. Editing software is all about touching up photographs. Prior to the digital revolution, this meant images would get small changes to correct minor imperfections. In the digital age, it is fairly shocking models are actually employed any longer. Using basic desktop programs such as Adobe Photoshop, one can mold a body into practically anything you want. Hair can be made longer, shorter or a different color. Noses can be made bigger, smaller, wider, darker or lighter. Prefer the model to look insanely thin? Just start pointing and clicking. The same goes for any part of the body. If a photograph does not have the correct lighting for a magazine cover, it can be corrected using software. Is there anything wrong with this? Yes and no. On one hand, there is not law against touching up photographs to fit a marketing position nor should there be. There is, however, an indirect downside. Many people view these images as a goal for their personal appearance. When considering plastic surgery, you must be objective about the potential results. It is highly unlikely you are going to look like the model in your favorite image. Heck, the model did not even look like that until undergoing a bit of editing! Plastic surgery has come a long way, but it has its limits. Plastic surgery is designed to enhance your personal appearance. That being said, it is important that you have reasonable expectations. Forget the images in magazines. Sit down with your plastic surgeon and get an opinion from them regarding what you can expect in regard to results. If those results sound attractive, go ahead. If they don’t sound like enough of an improvement, then surgery probably is not a good option.

Agel min the best way to get all of the necessary vitamins and minerals to keep up your pace in this world

Do you ever feel like you’re just not keeping the pace like you used to? This is an ever growing trend and the cause is most likely – barring any sort of serious health condition – the fact that you’re simply not getting all of the essential vitamins and minerals that your body requires to function at 100%. With our diets becoming increasingly worse and worse, in addition to the depleted levels of vitamins and minerals in the food that we do eat, most of us are walking around without sufficient energy to get through our busy days. A revolutionary company named Agel Industries has done exactly what’s necessary to assist you in getting all the vital nutrients that you need everyday with their innovative product Agel MIN. This is a product that provides you with the ideal amount – 100% of the Recommended Daily Intake, (otherwise known as RDI) of vitamins and 50% RDI of essential minerals. So how does this help you? Well…it’s as simple as this. Vitamins and minerals are the basic foundation of healthy living. They are basically involved with every single biochemical action that occurs in your body in some sort of way, which means that they act as coenzymes and cofactors. Again, this just means that they assist with all the going’s on in our bodies that makes us sustain health. Now here’s how Agel’s MIN differs from all of the other “me too” multi-vitamin products out there in the overcrowded market, and why MIN is quickly becoming a stand out product. The way that this product is designed, just as all of their products are designed, is within a revolutionary proprietary gel formula unique to Agel known as gelceuticals. What this means for you is that the nutrients within the product – the 12 essential vitamins and 11 vital minerals – are absorbed more completely and efficiently into your body and into the digestive system. This is because these ingredients are either suspended within the gel, or dissolved into the gel, so that as your body absorbs it, it’s also just as quickly and completely absorbing the nutrients withinpare this to the ordinary vitamin pill which must be digested first, and then whatever nutrients are left after that whole process, gets absorbed into your body – that is if it’s not excreted out before it gets a chance to do what it’s meant to do. It’s a huge difference, and if you really think about it, a huge money saver. You could almost say that buying pill vitamins is the same as flushing your money down the toilet. Now most people go through life in the “more is better” mode, and if one is good then 10’s better, hence the traveler lugging a bag full of 15 rattling pill bottles everywhere he goes. This is not the case with Agel MIN simply because it provides you with the ideal amount of what you need for the best possible health result – not too much and certainly not too little. The fact is that MIN uses a proprietary formula so that your body more efficiently is able to assimilate the nutrients, plus reserve them in your body which will leave you with a sustained energy like you’ve never gotten before from a multi-vitamin. It’s truly revolutionary. Just as exciting is the fact that it’s so easy to take on the run throughout your day because Agel MIN comes in easy single serving packets of the gel formula so that it’s readily mobile, and when you’re ready you just rip off the top, and squeeze the great tasting gel right into your mouth…Easy as 1-2-3!

An introduction to perfumes and colognes

The word perfume is from a Latin phrase meaning “through smoke” and was thought to have been invented by the ancient Egyptians who burned fragrant woods and plants for their pleasant odors. Over the years perfume has been used, refined and enhanced by every major civilization and today perfume as we know it is a very big business. Today’s modern perfume has three main components: The scent – Virtually anything natural or synthetic that has an odor can be used in the making of perfume. Typically scents are made from flowers, citrus, spices, woods and sometimes even leather. The fixative – These ingredients act to stabilize the aromatic compound and help to make the scent last longer. The solvent – This is usually alcohol and keeps bacteria from forming and helps maintain an even consistency so it can be easily applied. The category a fragrance belongs to is defined by how much of the scent (or aromatic compound) is used in the product. This also plays a factor in determining the price as the higher the concentration of scent the more expensive the fragrance will be: Lotions and aftershaves generally have a 1 to 2% scent base Eau de Cologne products are generally 2 to 3% pure scent Eau de Toilettes run between 5 to 20% scent Eau de Parfums will have from 10 to 30% aromatic compound in them Perfume Extract or Parfum has the greatest concentration of scent, between 20 and 40% Women’s products are usually categorized as perfume, eau de parfum, toilet water, and cologne and for men’s products are sold as perfume, cologne, and aftershave. Surprisingly fragrances and music share a common term, notes. Perfumes are often described by the different “notes” that make up the scent. These notes are designed to emerge at different times during the scent span of a fragrance just as an orchestra will have different instruments playing throughout a musical composition. Top Notes are the strongest scents but do not last very long. This is the initial burst of smell you get when you first take a sniff of your favorite perfume or cologne. The top notes are often spice or citrus based. Middle (or heart notes) makes up the main part of the scent that emerges after the top notes start to fade away and are usually softer and mellower than the initial scent. These scents are usually floral in nature. Bass notes form the foundation of the scent and are usually deep and musky in nature and emerge to blend with the middle notes not to replace them. Fragrances are very complex products that go through many stages of development before reaching the consumer. There are tens of thousands of different perfumes and colognes available today, each one having its own unique scent signature and what once was reserved for the wealthy and privileged is now available to everyone.

It is said that absence makes the heart grow fonder - well so does Beauty - the more you peer at something beautiful the more you yearn for it. Beauty injects an essence of elegance - an emotion felt within which comes with feeling good about your self. But leading a healthy lifestyle has to be the most important of all. Your health dominates how you feel - how you look and how you think so any concerns that are causing you sorrow whether it be a health or beauty matter then remember a problem shared is a problem halved. Speak with your local GP and once you are given the all clear - take note of the change in your whole entity, a personality change comes with looking beautiful. A fabulous way to find the beauty within - is to let it out. Inner beauty can be released by practising yoga. Yoga is an amazing exercise that understands what the body`s wants and needs are. Tooth whitening through the ages

Tooth whitening has been an effect people have been seeking for hundreds of years. The glow of a smile from clean teeth was a symbol of health, wealth status, and family upbringing. Sometimes having a healthy mouth overshadowed tooth whitening, but soon enough it became just as important as having healthy gums and strong teeth. The Egyptians, Romans, and even during the dawn of man, knew the importance of good oral health. By using “chewing sticks”, which were small pieces of sticks worn down at one end; this enabled them to scrub the particles off of their teeth after a meal. After all, these periods of the human race needed their teeth in order to survive. The nearest dentist was at least 2000 years away, so dentures were entirely out of the question. The Middle Ages brought forth the legendary barber and his red and white striped pole, (which was brought forth by hanging blood soaked bandages and clean, white bandages outside to dry, then being wrapped together by the wind, thus forming a pole). The barber, at this time had a dual role of cutting people’s hair and pulling their teeth. This was the important time of tooth whitening because it lead to greater social standing and was a label to the outside world that you had enough to eat, in which case, others did not. So, the barber’s role became to not only pull teeth, but to whiten them as well. He would file the teeth down and smudge corrosive nitric acid on them and in turn their teeth would have a beautiful luminous glow to them. However, the effect of this procedure led to the destruction of the enamel and then would lead to decayed teeth. Hopefully by this time they wouldn’t have to rely on their social graces to get through life, but on their personality like the rest of us. The nitric acid (although destructive) was quite popular up to the 1800s, until the Italians came across people with stained, but cavity-free teeth. This was due to the high fluoride soil content. Along with these scientists’ research and other scientists from around the world, fluoride was labeled to be an important factor in healthy, white teeth. In many parts of the world it was added to the drinking water, thus becoming available to everyone. Even those that were unable to purchase toothpaste or mouthwash. Thanks to this fluoride finding, this gave dentists more time to focus their attention on tooth whitening, which would prove to be more profitable. To the present day, tooth whitening has become a booming business, with a variety of ways to achieve that radiant smile while satisfying all price ranges. Dentists today, speak more on preventative care in order to have white teeth, such as staying away from coffee, tea, tobacco, red wine, and even some medications. However, for those of us that need our daily cup of coffee and daily glass of red wine, there is a multitude of ways to getting your teeth whitened. You can do it at home by purchasing over-the-counter strips or by going to the dentist and receiving the latest and greatest procedure in tooth whitening (which luckily doesn’t contain nitric acid anymore). Tooth whitening is available to everyone in the world, and you’d be surprised that some people (even to this day) still use “chewing sticks”. However, a radiant smile still means the same thing now, as it did then: health, wealth, and good family upbringing has been replaced with the importance of appearance. Finding and interviewing the right cosmetic dentist

: There are a number of ways to select a Cosmetic Dentist, some good, some bad. Below I describe some good methods, and some that aren’t so good. The best way: The best way to select your cosmetic dentist is to put in some legwork. Don’t be in a hurry; this is a decision that could last a lifetime. Interview at least two or three cosmetic dentists, and ask to see before and after pictures of the work they have done. Be sure that you like the results of the doctor’s work. Do all of the patient’s teeth look the same? Do they look natural, or do they look like a mouth full of Chiclets? How does the shape of the teeth blend with the patient’s face? Ask the Dentist to show you examples of different shapes of teeth. You need to also be sure that you communicate well with the dentist, and he understands what it is you want. Where did the dentist get his cosmetic training? True cosmetic dentistry is not taught in dental school. The Dentist should have attended a postgraduate program such as The Las Vegas institute for Advanced Dental Studies. These types of programs have the dentists bring in actual patients to work on, they aren’t just a weekend lecture course on how to do veneers. Most importantly, make sure the dentist takes the time to explain everything to you and answers all of your questions. Once you have done all of this, you can make an informed, rational decision. Anyone who refers you to a cosmetic dentist has far less at stake in the outcome than you do, so it's up to you to take responsibility for finding the best doctor. 1. A recommendation from your family doctor. This can be a starting point, but remember, your primary doctor is probably pretty busy. He doesn’t usually have time to evaluate a bunch of different cosmetic dentists. He may know a couple of different dentists who practice cosmetic dentistry, but these may not necessarily be the best in town. 2. A referral from a patient who has had work done by a cosmetic dentist. If you like the results, he/she may be worth checking into. Find out about education and postgraduate training. 3. A recommendation from an aesthetician or hair stylist. These people are in the appearance and style business. They know who has had what done, and have probably seen both the good and bad in your town. This can actually be a pretty good starting point for your search. 4. The yellow pages will have a list of dentists in your town; keep in mind that the size and quality of the ad are not an indication of the quality of the work. Be very careful about using this as your starting point. The Interview Some things to remember when you go in for a consultation: 1. Try to relax. You are just going for a consultation. You have no obligation to have any treatment. Tell the dentist what it is you are looking for. Listen to what he has to say. 2. Remember, you are hiring the dentist, not the other way around. Be sure that he answers all of your questions. 3. Go to your consultation with pictures of smiles that you like. Not every smile can be duplicated on every patient, but it will give the cosmetic dentist some idea of what direction you wish to go. Be sure to let him know what it is about your smile that you dislike. Listen to what he has to say about your smile What you want to accomplish at the consultation: 1. Get as much information as you can about the recommended procedure. What will be done; veneers? Crowns? Implants? bridges? What can be improved upon? What can the dentist not improve? What are the possible complications? What are the costs? Will you be able to go out right after the procedure? If you feel that the doctor is not answering your questions or comes across as if you are wasting his time, move on to the next one. It is the cosmetic dentists job to make sure you are educated about the procedure and that he answers all of your questions. 2. How good is the cosmetic dentist? Look at before and after photos of patients with similar situations. This is one way of determining how good his work is. Be sure to ask if the pictures you are seeing are patients the dentist has done himself. Some “cosmetic dentists” use stock photos of patients who are not their own. If the dentist will not show you photos, it is probably a good idea to go elsewhere. 3. If you like what you see, but are still a little bit uneasy, ask the dentist if you can contact some of his cosmetic patients that have had similar treatment. Most good cosmetic dentist will be happy to arrange this for you. Cosmetic dentists are just like any other professional, some are very good, and others are not so good. Pictures of the dentist’s work are the best evidence of the dentist’s skill. You wouldn’t hire someone to remodel your house without seeing samples of their work first. A great cosmetic dentist sees beyond the teeth, looking at the whole person. For more information on cosmetic dentistry, go to The Beverly Hills Cosmetic Dentist
